Q1: I have graduated from the University of Technology. My major is Electrics. Can I apply for a position of Design Engineer of RVC?
A1: Because our business is to design hardware & software for IC chips, the Design Engineer positions of our Company requires basic technical knowledge of relevant majors, basically including Electronics, Telecommunications, Mechatronics, Automation, Physics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics – Informatics, or equivalent fields.
Q2: I graduated from the Ho Chi Minh University of Science. My major was Physics. I have 2 years’ working experience. Can I apply for a position of Design Engineer of RVC?
A2: Currently, RVC is also recruiting experienced engineers. Therefore, if your working experience is suitable for RVC business field, please do not hesitate to send your resume to us. We will contact you for further steps if we have a job opening that suits your qualifications.
Q3: I graduated from university in October 2014. I joined the recruitment process of RVC in December 2014 for the position of HW Design Engineer, but I failed. So, can I join the written test in June 2015 for the same position?
A3: Currently, we also accept the candidates who fail previous recruitments which must take place at least 6 months prior to the next recruitment. So, in your case, you are eligible for our written test in June 2015. Please send us your application package or apply online.
Q4: How many ways can I apply for a job in Renesas Design Vietnam Co., Ltd.?
A4: Currently, there are 3 common ways:

- Send application package in English (resume, application letter, 3×4 photo, degree, etc.) to jobs@rvc.renesas.com

Q5: In order to apply for a job at RVC, I have to send the application package including my score transcript. However, it takes a long time to get it from the university. What should I do?
A5: During the recruitment, we can accept official transcript downloaded from school websites. However, you must submit the original one which needs to be stamped by the university when you go to work for RVC. Of course, there must not be any discrepancies between the two submitted transcripts.
Q6: I should have graduated from university in September 2014. However, I still have 1 incomplete subject, so I cannot get the degree until December 2014. Might I be accepted to join the recruitment process of RVC in June 2014?
A6: Based on the current rules, we do not accept candidates who cannot complete university program by first working date.
Q7: I am going to graduate in September 2014. In order to apply for a job at RVC, I need to submit my degree. However, I will not have it until October 2014. Can I join the recruitment in June 2014?
A7: The successful candidates of the recruitment in June 2014 will start working for RVC in September 2014. Therefore, at first, we can accept the temporary paper which certifies your graduation status issued by your university. However, you must submit the notarized copy of the official degree within 6 months after the first working month for RVC.
Q8: I want to become a Design Engineer of RVC. What knowledge should I know for the written test of RVC?
A8: For the position of Design Engineer, there are two written tests: Technical test and English test.
- Technical test: The knowledge required for Hardware is different from that for Software.

- Binary, Hexadecimal, and Decimal conversion
- Binary calculation (i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication,..)
- Logical gates (i.e. AND gate, NAND gate, Exclusive-OR gate, D-Flipflop, …)
- True Table
- Karnaugh map (K-map) and Boolean algrebra
- Digital function of NMOS and PMOS
- Verilog language (i.e. basic syntax)
- C language (i.e. intermediate syntax, pointers, variables, …)
- Assembly language (i.e. hardware interrupt sequence)
- State-machine/sequential logic
- Knowledge for Software test
- Endian
- Basic SW technical terms

- English test: Generally, the knowledge required is the same for both Hardware and Software.
